This 2018 Urban Comics edition collects the opening chapter of Jonathan Hickman, Nick Pitarra, and Jordie Bellaire's wildly imaginative series under the fitting subtitle Pseudo-Science. The cover is a densely packed ensemble piece — rendered in Pitarra's intricate, almost grotesque style — showcasing a sprawling crowd of peculiar figures: suited scientists, soldiers, masked characters, monstrous creatures, and all manner of strange entities packed together in vivid, Bellaire-colored detail. It's a wonderfully chaotic visual promise of the wild alternate history waiting inside.
