Part of Joe Hill's Hill House Comics imprint, this fourth issue of The Low, Low Woods carries an atmosphere of quiet dread that feels entirely earned. Sam Wolfe Connelly's cover places two young women in tense, intimate conversation against a glowing amber window — and looming silently in that warm light behind them is the unmistakable outline of a watching figure they seem unaware of. Writer Carmen Maria Machado and artist Dani continue their collaboration here, with Tamra Bonvillain's colors no doubt deepening the unsettling mood throughout.
