The Lost World of the Warlord #1
"Battle Beneath the Earth!" kicks off a wild, spell-woven clash in The Lost World of the Warlord #1 (1983), where sorcerer Deimos pulls warrior Arak from the past to face the Warlord, Travis Morgan—only for a rival sorceress to awaken a future version of Hercules from bones in Deimos’s castle. With Arak’s loyalty unraveling and the three men locked in a fierce struggle, the fate of the lost world hangs in the balance. Written by Joey Cavalieri and illustrated by Mark Texeira, with inks by Tod Smith, colors by Anthony Tollin, and letters by Shelly Leferman, the cover by Mark Texeira and Tod Smith captures the epic clash in striking detail.

Deimos magically brings Arak from the past to battle the Warlord [Travis Morgan], while a rival sorceress resurrects Hercules from bones in Deimos's castle (despite this version of Hercules being from the future). Hercules attacks Deimos, whose spell on Arak fades, and the three men battle Deimos. In the end, Arak is restored to his home and Hercules vanishes.
