The Looking Glass Wars: Hatter M #4
A cloaked, mysterious figure in a towering top hat strides through a fog-drenched gaslit street, that single red eye glowing with quiet menace — Templesmith's atmospheric artwork gives this fourth issue a genuinely unsettling, noir-drenched mood. Frank Beddor's dark reimagining of the Alice mythos continues here, and even Mike Carey (Lucifer) is quoted on the cover singing its praises, which says something about the kind of brooding imagination at work. If you've been following Hatter M's journey through this shadowy, period-tinged world, this installment looks like it delivers more of that rich blend of the eerie and the arcane.
