In "The Spy," a writer studying with the Pawnee is falsely accused of being an Army spy, forcing the Lone Ranger and Tonto to intervene. With Silver and Scout at their side, they must guide the man through a tense stand-off, working to prevent the tribe from taking up arms—before trust breaks and violence follows.

After rescuing a young boy from the lake, Young Hawk, Little Buck, and Strong Eagle escort him to his Chippewa village, where a sudden Huron war party launches a fierce attack. The trio fights to defend the settlement, but the battle takes a heavy toll—Strong Eagle is gravely wounded. Though he recovers, the injury leads him to make a lasting choice to remain with the Chippewa.
