The Light #5

Nathan Edmondson and Brett Weldele close out their unsettling series with this haunting final issue, and the cover alone signals something deeply eerie — a translucent, skeletal figure glows from within, its skull-like face illuminated by a cold blue-white light while a vivid pulse of pink-purple energy burns at the chest, dark silhouetted trees looming behind it in the gloom. Weldele's art renders the figure with an almost X-ray quality, making the human form look simultaneously fragile and terrifyingly charged. "Burn Out Bright" promises a conclusion that lives up to that ominous, luminous imagery.
