The Life and Death of Fritz the Cat #[nn]

Crumb's complete Fritz the Cat saga gets a handsome 2012 Fantagraphics collection, gathering the full arc of underground comix' most free-spirited feline. The cover — drawn and inked by Crumb himself — shows Fritz, dressed in a red jacket, attempting to charm a long-haired female rabbit in purple pants, her weary "Ho hum…" balloon suggesting she's heard it all before. It's a perfectly Crumb-ian scene: funny, a little awkward, and brimming with the irreverent energy that made Fritz one of the most distinctive characters in alternative comics history.
