History

The series was announced by BOOM! Studios in December 2024 and placed squarely in the lineage of Panosian's prior BOOM! work: he had previously written and illustrated Alice Ever After and Alice Never After, both dark reinterpretations of Lewis Carroll's Alice for the same publisher. In a statement accompanying the announcement, Panosian described a lifelong fascination with the Peter Pan mythology and framed his central creative question as what would happen if everyone around Peter grew up while he stubbornly refused — even when lives depended on it. Alessio Avallone, a Rome-based artist who had previously illustrated science-fiction and historical-fantasy stories for Sergio Bonelli Editore before breaking into English-language comics on titles such as James Bond: 007, joined Panosian as series artist, with Valentina Pinto on colors and Jeff Eckleberry on letters. The complete five-issue miniseries was subsequently collected in a softcover trade paperback published by BOOM! Studios in February 2026.
