Eric pawns the jewels he stole from the Black Fox for $10,000 and buys himself a new identity. He gets a job with Damage Control and immediately starts dating one of his co-workers. To prove his cover story to Abigail, Eric goes into battle as the Slaying Mantis and sort of helps She-Hulk fight Mr. Hyde. Black Fox tracks Eric down looking for his missing loot and goes bananas when he finds out that Eric only got $10,000 for $100,000 worth of jewelry. Ant-Man robs the fence who ripped him off and he and the Black Fox actually make a tidy profit on the transaction.
