“Vampire Tale!”

In "Vampire Tale!", the Human Torch and Toro face a chilling mystery when they encounter alien bat people who claim that Earth has become a refuge for their exiled vampires—criminals banished long ago when the planet lacked intelligent life. Now that humans have risen, the bat people are returning to reclaim their outcasts, determined to relocate them rather than destroy them. Written by Joe Gill and illustrated by Carl Burgos and Dick Ayers, with cover art by Carl Burgos, this 1954 issue blends sci-fi and horror in a tale where the line between predator and prisoner blurs.

Torch and Toro encounter alien bat people who explain that vampires are their criminals that they exiled to Earth long ago when there was no intelligent life. A scout ship having informed them that there is now an intelligent species on the planet being preyed on by the vampire aliens, the bat people are now rounding up vampires to deposit on some other planet without an intelligent species since they do not believe in killing.
