This volume collects the first six issues of the 2023 *The Human Target* series, written by Tom King with art by Greg Smallwood. The story reimagines the classic DC character Christopher Chance, a private investigator who impersonates his clients to draw out threats, but here he finds himself poisoned and must solve his own murder before time runs out. Book One sets up a noir-infused mystery that blends action, introspection, and a ticking clock.
