This is an anthology issue containing at least two stories. "Big Top Nightmare" involves a circus where a performer named Lorite Hugenberg has mysteriously died under the big top, and a group of men attempt to summon him from the grave, only to encounter a vengeful lion that terrorizes them. A separate war-themed story follows a soldier named North who becomes separated from his unit, encounters enemy forces, and is later rescued by his comrades aboard a train, before facing a personified Death figure. The final story presented is a courtroom drama in which defendant Arthur Weston must prove his innocence regarding a crime that occurred in Times Square on New Year's Eve, ultimately using a hat size discrepancy as crucial evidence to establish his alibi and expose the true culprit.
