The Hammer of Thor #1
In "The Hammer and the Cross," a group of crusaders led by James—echoes of the Scooby Gang—encounter a band of Norsemen while spreading their faith. When the Norse refuse conversion, violence erupts, forcing both sides to call upon divine power: Jesus and Thor. Written by Robert Hand and Scotty Babbitt, with art, inks, and colors by Robert Hand, this 1998 issue from Hand of Doom Publications presents a striking, faith-driven clash where divine figures must confront the cost of holy war. The cover, also by Robert Hand, captures the moment the two forces meet.

A group of crusaders, including analogues of the Scooby Gang, led by James (analogue of Fred), come upon a group of Norsemen camping. They proselytize, and then attack when the Norse refuse to convert, killing Nik and Nib's father. The Norse summon Thor, the Christians summon Jesus. Jesus realizes that Thor was only protecting his followers, and tells Thor that killing nonbelievers is not his way.
