The Goon #15

Only Eric Powell could make a zombie labor strike look this compelling. Issue #15 of The Goon features a striking cover where the hulking, flat-capped Goon stands defiantly gripping a wooden plank before a shambling horde of undead picketers hoisting signs reading "All Work No Pay No Way!!!", "Union for the Worker," "Labor Rights," and "Strike Now Unfair $$$" — all overshadowed by the looming, bejeweled face of a mysterious woman dominating the upper half of the image. Powell's cover work here is wonderfully absurd and beautifully rendered, blending genuine menace with deadpan humor in a way that's entirely his own.
