“This Hero's Journey”

From Image Comics in 2000, The Gear Station #1 launches "This Hero's Journey" with a cover — penciled by Dan Fraga and inked by Lary Stucker — that immediately signals something refreshingly different. A red-haired winged woman perches atop an elaborate golden gear mechanism against a luminous violet sky, her dragonfly-like wings catching the light with a delicate, otherworldly quality. The blend of mechanical imagery and fantastical figure work sets a compelling tone for this series from the creative team of Fraga, Alford, and Gilmore.
