The Friendly Ghost, Casper #73

Harvey Comics' perpetually cheerful little ghost takes center stage on this bright pink September 1964 cover, where Casper looks delightfully flustered while gripping a yellow paddle with a ball bouncing wildly on its string. It's a wonderfully simple, charming snapshot of Casper doing something very much alive and playful — paddle ball apparently being just as tricky for friendly ghosts as it is for everyone else. Inside, the story "The Good (?) Old Days" promises the kind of wholesome, good-natured fun that made Casper a staple of Harvey Comics throughout the 1960s.
