The Friendly Ghost, Casper #29

Harvey Comics' perpetually cheerful little ghost runs into a different kind of trouble on this January 1961 cover — Casper is caught in a spray of water gushing from a leaky yellow pipe, his expression a perfect mix of surprise and soggy determination as he tries to plug the burst with his ghostly hand. It's a wonderfully charming sight gag that captures everything lovable about the character: even when drenched, Casper is doing his best to help. At just a dime, issue #29 is a delightful slice of early-'60s all-ages fun from Harvey Comics.
