The Friendly Ghost, Casper #223

There's a delightful irony at work on the cover of this 1982 Harvey Comics issue — Casper, the world's most famous ghost, is riding a "Fun House" roller-coaster car while a startled green monster overhead shrieks "Yipe! A Ghost!", apparently more frightened of our friendly little specter than Casper is of him. It's a charming role-reversal setup that captures exactly the gentle, good-natured humor that has made Casper such an enduring figure in all-ages comics.
