The Flintstones #5

Fred Flintstone looks quite pleased with himself on this cheerful 1962 Dell cover, while poor Wilma struggles under the weight of an enormous stone hat topped with tropical leaves and a flowerpot — clearly a fashion accessory that's gotten a little out of hand. Harvey Eisenberg's cover art captures the warm domestic comedy that made Hanna-Barbera's Stone Age family such a natural fit for comics. With "Bad News Tonight" waiting inside, this is a delightful slice of early-sixties funny-pages charm.
