The First Kingdom #3

Jack Katz's singular post-apocalyptic epic continues in this third Titan volume, subtitled Vengeance, collecting "Book Thirteen" of his sprawling saga. The cover, rendered entirely by Katz himself, puts two figures center stage — an armored warrior hoisting a yellow-clad companion in what feels like a desperate, urgent rescue against a stark backdrop of ruins and a gun raised in defiance. Jim Steranko's pull-quote calling it "an atomic reactor overloading to a dangerous intensity… a masterpiece" says plenty about the ambition on display here.
