A strange group of men and a woman refuse to let the Mexican, Pedro Ramirez, guide them on the hazardous route across the desert and yellow mountain to Rio Solis. When their incompetent, drunken guide goes over a cliff, Pedro shows himself and guides them for an increased fee. Tensions mount between members of the group and against Pedro. Finally arriving, they meet rebels. Some of the group are gun runners and Pedro is a Mexican army Captain. Miss Van Dyke and her grandfather survive the battle, and Pedro welcomes them as colonials.
