ザ・ファブル [The Fable] #22

Two figures share the close quarters of what appears to be a camper van interior — a heavyset man in a dark jacket sitting at a small table, and a woman in a purple sweater and light skirt resting against the opposite seat — the quiet tension between them speaking volumes without a word. The Fable has always excelled at this kind of loaded stillness, and volume 22 by 南勝久 (Minami Katsuhisa) looks to deliver more of the understated, slow-burn atmosphere that defines the series. Fans of the manga's blend of restrained character work and mounting dread will find plenty to anticipate in this chapter of the story.
