Vertigo's gritty pest-control series serves up a memorably unnerving cover for issue #7: a snarling, wild-eyed rat looms from above in a harsh spotlight, teeth bared and claws outstretched, while directly below a luchador in a vivid red-and-yellow mask stares up in wide-mouthed alarm — all of it playing out above a crowd of onlookers. Philip Bond's cover art captures the series' darkly absurdist tone perfectly, pairing urban dread with an almost theatrical flair. "Insurgency: Chapter Two" promises that Simon Oliver's story, brought to life by Tony Moore and Ande Parks, is heading somewhere decidedly strange and fun.
