The Exterminators #13
Vertigo's unsettling urban horror series hits its thirteenth issue with a cover by Darick Robertson that does not ease up for a moment — a blindfolded figure, teeth clenched in anguish, is absolutely crawling with insects across his face, neck, and chest while a pair of scissors looms in from the right edge. It's the kind of image that makes your skin crawl in the best possible way, perfectly capturing the series' reputation as "disturbingly gritty" — a quote the cover itself wears proudly. Simon Oliver, Tony Moore, and Ande Parks kick off a new arc, "Lies of Our Fathers," and if this cover is any indication, the creeping dread is only going to deepen.
