The Dying and the Dead #6

Jonathan Hickman and R.M. Guéra's ambitious Image series reaches its sixth installment, and the cover alone signals something quietly breathtaking. A red-haired woman in flowing crimson robes descends — or perhaps ascends — through a luminous, bubble-filled underwater expanse, while a pale, ghostly face looms in profile from the left, both figures rendered in soft blues and vivid reds by cover artist Ryan Bodenheim. It's a hauntingly beautiful composition that captures the series' signature blend of the ethereal and the elegiac, and a fitting visual note for this 2017 Image release.
