The Darkness armor has never looked more ferocious than on this October 1999 Top Cow/Image cover, where Jackie Estacado looms in full supernatural regalia — his living tendrils fanning out like dark wings — while a pack of glowing-eyed Darklings swarm around him against a backdrop of hellish flame. Penciler Clarence Lansang and inker Victor Llamas pack every inch of the image with writhing detail, from the organic armor plating to the snarling creature crouched at Jackie's feet. With Scott Lobdell at the helm for the story inside, issue #26 promises the brooding intensity this series does so well.
