This moody 1999 Image Comics installment of The Crow continues "Ashes to Ashes Part II" with a cover by Simon Davis that sets a genuinely haunting tone — a great black crow spreads its wings over a pale, motionless figure lying among tangled vines, with cemetery crosses and a looming gothic structure fading into the murky background. The atmospheric color palette of deep blues and grays gives the scene a painterly, elegiac weight that perfectly suits the series' spirit. Interior work from writer Jon J. Muth alongside artist and inker Paul Lee promises the same brooding intensity the title is known for delivering.
