The Crow #1
The Crow returns to Image Comics in 1999 with this brooding first issue, its cover by Kent Williams demanding attention with a pale, hollow-eyed figure bearing the character's signature white-and-black face paint, glowing red eyes, and wild dark hair — all rendered in moody, ink-wash tones that feel closer to fine art than standard superhero fare. A ornate sword or cross-like blade cuts across the composition, with spatters of crimson punctuating the darkness around him. With Jon J. Muth writing and Jamie Tolagson on interior art, "Resurrection" promises a haunting, atmospheric chapter for one of comics' most compelling dark avengers.
