Set in the West Indies, 1701, this swashbuckling graphic novel from Chris Schweizer drops readers into a world of high-seas adventure through the Crogan Adventures series. The cover presents a boldly stylized pirate figure — all sharp angles and fierce expression — fan of weapons in hand, rendered in a striking limited palette of gold, red, and black that immediately signals action and attitude. Stan Sakai of Usagi Yojimbo fame calls Schweizer "an amazingly talented cartoonist with an ear for dialogue and an eye for great storytelling," and this 2015 Oni Press volume makes a compelling case for that praise.
