Flight Leader Bill Newman conducts a reconnaissance run near the Manchurian border when he discovers abandoned dwellings and suspects sabotage. As enemy rockets pursue him, Newman manages to outmaneuver the missiles and crash-land safely. The Crimson Comet arrives to find Newman unconscious and bound to a bullet-scarred post, discovering evidence of enemy activity in the region. Newman explains that the abandoned structures and rocket attack originated from enemy forces, prompting the Crimson Comet to pursue the saboteurs toward Japan while Ralph Rivers, a special intelligence agent, takes off in his Sabrejet to intercept the enemy aircraft.
