The Complete Dracula #5
Dynamite's ambitious 2009 adaptation of Stoker's immortal novel reaches its fifth chapter, and John Cassaday's cover art captures the confrontation with striking force: a monstrous, fanged Dracula looms in deep crimson at the top of the image, while below — set against a full moon — a caped vampire figure grapples violently with a struggling human, wooden debris scattering through the blood-red air. The stark two-tone palette of red and black gives the whole composition a genuinely unsettling atmosphere. Writers Leah Moore and John Reppion, with Colton Worley handling all interior art duties, bring Bram Stoker's gothic masterwork to its penultimate chapter in style.
