“Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge and the "Paul Bunyan" Machine”

In "Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge and the 'Paul Bunyan' Machine," Scrooge McDuck’s latest scheme to store his fortune takes an unexpected turn when he selects a desolate asteroid—only to discover it’s home to a small, isolated tribe whose survival hinges on a fragile ecosystem. With his usual mix of ambition and misjudgment, Scrooge inadvertently disrupts their way of life, setting off a chain of events that tests his usual resolve. Carl Barks’ signature blend of whimsy and wry observation shines through in this classic tale, with full art, inks, and colors by Barks himself, and lettering by Garé Barks; the cover, also by Barks, captures the story’s playful yet poignant tone.

Scrooge decides to hide his money in space, but the rocky, barren asteroid he chooses is populated by tiny primitive tribesmen, who live just three hundred yards from another asteroid that is lushly vegetated and covered with trees and lakes. Their future looks bleak when the ducks scare away the birds whose eggs are their only source of food.
