The Comet #42 (New Series) is an all-star anthology comic featuring several stories. "Jungle Lord" follows Dick as he pursues a giant gorilla named Bomba through the jungle, ultimately confronting and defeating the beast in combat. "Round the World in a Flying Fish" depicts Jack and Jill traveling with their Uncle Bob in an experimental all-purpose machine, encountering luminous-eyed creatures and a subterranean tunnel civilization on the planet Centaur before discovering an underground community of space-men holding their uncle captive. The issue also includes "Little Shrew-Mouse," a nature story by Joan Clement Jones about shrews and their habitat, along with several other shorter features, educational content, reader correspondence sections, and a word-square puzzle game.
