The Boys #7

Issue seven of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's sharp-edged series finds a heavyset, bespectacled bald man — cigar in hand and red suspenders over a bare torso — hunched amid towering stacks of comic books, clutching a copy of an in-world title called "The Seven." The surrounding chaos of longboxes, scattered issues, and a forgotten coffee mug gives the scene a wonderfully grubby, obsessive energy, all rendered with Robertson's characteristically textured linework. "Get Some Part One" promises that whatever comes next, this world's irreverent attitude toward superhero culture is very much intact.
