“We Gotta Go Now Part Six”

A battered, wide-eyed superhero in a green-and-red costume — gold "G" belt and all — finds himself completely encircled on Darick Robertson's cover, with hands reaching in from every direction: fists, flame, crackling electricity, and ice closing in from all sides. It's a wonderfully tense composition that captures the series' gleefully brutal tone, with the cornered figure's bloodied face selling the desperation perfectly. Garth Ennis's "We Gotta Go Now" arc reaches its sixth chapter here, and this 2009 Dynamite issue makes a strong visual case that things are not going well for whoever this costumed unfortunate happens to be.
