The Blue Beetle #13

The cover by Rafael Albuquerque says it all: Jaime Reyes is in full panic mode, swarmed by glowing blue scarab beetles clinging to his hands and face as more swarm the sky behind him — and the tagline "Bug on the Run!" captures the frantic energy perfectly. It's a genuinely striking image, blending Jaime's very human terror with the alien, luminescent threat closing in around him. Writer John Rogers and artist Rafael Albuquerque were crafting one of DC's most energetic superhero books in 2007, and this issue's "Defective" storyline looks like no exception.
