In "Glove Story," the first issue of The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries, Batman enlists the help of Mystery Inc. when his original purple gloves—key pieces of his earliest costume—are replaced with perfect fakes made in 2021. Written by Ivan Cohen and illustrated by Dario Brizuela, with colors by Franco Riesco and letters by Saida Temofonte, the story splits the gang across time: Fred and Daphne team up with Batman and Robin in the present, while Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby are mysteriously sent back to Batman’s formative years by Dr. Carter Nichols. The cover, also by Dario Brizuela, captures the eerie contrast of past and present.
