The Avenger #1

The Avenger pursues a dangerous adversary who possesses a formula for powerful explosives that could destroy helpless people. After riding his speedboat across a Pacific island and battling enemies who attempt to stop him, the Avenger discovers that the villain is Doctor Oberschaff, a scientist who deliberately created the wrong formula to prevent the explosives from being used. The Avenger helps Oberschaff escape to safety in a rocket bound for the United States, thwarting those who would exploit the scientist's genius for evil purposes.
