The Authority #25

This WildStorm issue brings together a sprawling ensemble of heroes and soldiers in one striking tableau — the cover by Howard Porter and Allen Martinez packs in a winged figure soaring overhead, a blue-armored woman at the center, a gun-toting soldier at the left, a woman with glowing green accessories crouching in the foreground, and several other powered individuals arrayed across a crumbling, red-tinged cityscape. With Tom Taylor and Al Barrionuevo steering the series into its 25th issue, the sheer number of characters assembled here hints at something ambitious and team-wide in scope. The story title "This Is Gonna Suck" adds a wry, self-aware edge that feels very much in the spirit of The Authority at its most entertaining.
