The Atomic Thunderbolt #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Atomic Thunderbolt rescues a woman named Myrna from drowning after she survives an explosion at Professor Rhonnes' laboratory, bringing her aboard a nearby yacht. When the Chief questions why Thunderbolt saved her, he learns that criminals are after an atomic device and plan to steal it, forcing Myrna to help them. The hero must protect the atomic formula and stop the villains from obtaining the dangerous technology. In a subplot, two schoolboys skip class to explore the woods, where they encounter a salamander and are confronted by their teacher.
Two truant boys, Willy and Boitram, dodge their natural history class for what they think will be a pleasant walk in the woods—only to find themselves transported into a prehistoric swamp face-to-face with towering dinosaurs and other perils they never bargained for. As they scramble from brontosaurs to a ferocious tyrannosaurus, they discover that learning about evolution and animal life might have been the safer option after all. This 1946 tale by Robert Peterson proves that sometimes the textbook approach to education isn't the worst one.
