The Astonishing Ant-Man #8
Scott Lang finds himself literally on the table — a tiny, defiant Ant-Man standing atop a massive pile of poker chips surrounded by ants, while three looming figures hold their cards close in what looks like the highest-stakes game imaginable. Julian Totino Tedesco's cover sets a wonderfully absurd scene, with a masked, rabbit-eared figure and two intense opponents eyeing their hands as if Scott's very fate is the pot. Nick Spencer and Brent Schoonover's 2016 run continues to blend humor and genuine tension in a way few Marvel titles manage quite so well.
