The All New Atom #23

Issue #23 of The All New Atom (July 2008) promises a wild science-fiction thrill ride, with the cover — pencilled and inked by José Ladrönn — blazing in fiery reds and oranges as a suited hero clutches an unconscious woman while being seized by a massive, mandible-snapping crustacean-like creature looming overhead. More of these otherworldly beasts swarm the sulfurous background, and a field of scattered skulls and bones below sets an ominous, pulpy tone that matches the cover's bold declaration: "Attack of the Creatures from Beyond!" With Rick Remender writing and Pat Olliffe on interior art, "Inside Out, Chapter Three: Strange New World" looks set to deliver exactly the kind of micro-scale mayhem this title does so well.
