☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe issue contains two stories: "Riley's Rangers Meet the Ugly Brothers," in which Riley's Rangers confront the outlaw Pel-Hom and his coyote gang in East Texas, leading to a confrontation that ends with the outlaws defeated and peace restored to the land; and a second story featuring gunslinger Reedy who robs a bank to break his grip on the town, with his mortgages and notes destroyed in a fire set during the robbery, allowing Captain Smathers' Rangers to apprehend him for his crimes. A third adventure shows Colonel Riley setting a trap in a canyon for the notorious "Ugly Brothers," using a rockslide device to defeat the outlaws as boulders rain down upon them.
Texas Ranger Mike Doheny arrives in Fairville to investigate escalating violence between the Kiowa and homesteaders, only to discover that land speculator Sam Pelham has been deliberately stirring up trouble to drive the tribe away from hunting grounds crucial to their survival. As tensions boil over and a young Kiowa brave named Luke Otter is nearly lynched, Doheny must expose Pelham's scheme before false accusations of murder spark a full-scale army assault on the tribe.
A corrupt banker with a stranglehold on Mud River Valley uses predatory loans and murder to seize homesteads across Texas, but Ranger Jason Riggs arrives to investigate—only to find himself framed and imprisoned by the very man he came to stop. When Reedy consolidates his power by becoming marshal and judge, Riggs must break free and strike at the banker's empire before a rigged trial sends him to the gallows.
