☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis third volume in NBM's collected edition of Milton Caniff's classic newspaper strip continues the adventures of Terry Lee and his companions as they navigate the treacherous world of pre-World War II Asia, with the enigmatic Dragon Lady playing a central role in the unfolding drama. The collection reprints a sequence of daily strips from the late 1930s, showcasing Caniff's pioneering storytelling and atmospheric art.
Terry recounts his first encounter with the Dragon Lady, during which he was caught with evidence by authorities and forced to flee in a car driven by the Dragon Lady herself. On the Dragon Lady's junk, Terry is held captive while she schemes to sell him to Papa Pyzon, a criminal gang leader, but he manages to escape her plans to make money by selling seaplane designs. The issue also includes a "Boy Explorers" backup story in which Commodore Sindbad and his young explorers navigate to an Amazon island ruled by women and must complete their mission despite the unusual circumstances.
