Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #29

Three of the Turtles — Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael — pick their way along the gnarled, autumn-draped branches of a massive tree, a rocky stream winding below them, while a fourth turtle crouches quietly at the water's edge in the distance. Ross Campbell's cover art gives the whole scene a moody, woodsy atmosphere perfectly suited to a story called "Northampton, Part 1," trading the city sewers for what feels like genuine wilderness. It's a refreshingly grounded look for IDW's 2013 TMNT run, with Ronda Pattison's warm fall palette of amber and rust making this one hard to pass by on the shelf.
