Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #10

All four Turtles crowd the foreground of this July Image Comics issue, battered and battle-ready — Leonardo with his swords, Raphael with his sai, Donatello and Michelangelo braced for a fight — while a massive, heavily muscled green figure looms behind them clutching a firearm, making the threat feel immediate and imposing. Erik Larsen's cover signature is visible, and the composition does a fine job of conveying just how outmatched the team might be against someone that size. It's a compelling snapshot of the grittier, harder-edged era the Turtles inhabited during their Image years.
