"The Fastest Drag" follows Scot Jackson as he attempts to drive a 5,000-pound jet dragster named Comando X at over 250 mph to break the land speed record. Running out of concrete on the strip, Jackson deploys parachutes to stop the vehicle and narrowly avoids disaster. In a second story titled "No Bread, But Lots of Crust," a young hotrodder borrows a sprint car to impress a girl at the races, misrepresenting it as his own to win her attention. The issue features high-speed automotive action and racing competition as its primary themes.
