"Lost and Lonely" follows a young woman who becomes heartbroken after seeing her former boyfriend with another girl, then encounters him unexpectedly the next morning and manages to elude him, only to later learn he had been trying to reach her all along. "Isn't It Romantic" tells of Frieda, whose mother suggests she meet the son of her best friend Elsie Bendows; after spending time together at Pinehurst in the mountains and at Henderson's Beach, Frieda initially questions whether their meeting was truly romantic, but ultimately realizes that their connection was genuine when her father rescues the young man from drowning and they marry a year later. A third story, "Ziggy," depicts a girl named Vikki who uses her flirtatiousness to manipulate a boy named Tommy into spreading false rumors about another girl named Ellen to make himself look good.
