In "A Jaula do Macaco," Tarzan and his companions face a perilous mission when N'Kima is taken by a Baluga hunter, condemned to be killed by a civet cat for the tribe's entertainment. Disguised as porcupines, the Boy and Dombie sneak into the hunter's camp to stage a daring rescue, testing their wits and courage in the heart of the jungle.

In "Yo Man-gâni," Tarzan and the Boy follow the trail of Norgak, a mangani who has turned violent and slain members of his own kind. As they track him through the jungle, they discover he’s been wounded by a rifle—Tarzan removes the bullet, and with careful healing, Norgak begins to return to his former self.
