Tarzan #6
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeMarvel's 1977 run of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan: Lord of the Jungle hits a fever pitch in issue #6, where the cover — penciled and inked by John Buscema — puts the Lord of the Jungle and La in immediate peril as a raging Tantor charges through the jungle brush. A speech balloon warns that the maddened elephant will slay them when a tree falls, while Tarzan lunges knife-in-hand and La recoils in her red garb, the whole scene crackling with desperate, kinetic energy. With Roy Thomas scripting and John Buscema's dynamic linework carrying over into the interior alongside inker Tony DeZuniga, this is a fine showcase for Marvel's bold take on Burroughs' enduring jungle world.
